more than dust.

Hi there – it’s been a while. 

In the past two years, a lot has changed. I’ve never been very good at honest to God ‘blog posts’, but I’ll try catch whoever’s interested up in the most concise way possible. For starters, I began university in September 2021 at the University of Bristol (doing, of course, English). I then met some of the most extraordinary people who walk this planet, whom I love very much (shoutout to Dominic, Maya and Rosie.) Creatively, things have been fairly slow – adjusting to university as a neurodivergent person was less of a struggle than I expected, but it was still hard, and I definitely had to get used to fending for myself domestically and academically. Mostly, though, it’s the time – there’s very little of it between essays, seminars and, now, working part time. But recently, the spark has come back – with my dissertation imminently approaching, I’m more excited than ever to sink my teeth back into creativity, and making time for these things. 

So, what is this website for? I’m aware I’ve got a couple of projects going on, and it might be unclear. Once a month, from now until the foreseeable future, I will be publishing an essay on a piece of media – be it a video game, a film, a TV show, or a book – written for the joy of writing about and sharing art to this website. I’ve already got some ideas lined up, but I’m always willing to take suggestions!
